Sasha Foster, MSPT, CCRT, founded Canine Fitness Zone to bridge the gap between human research-based conditioning and treatments and animal conditioning and treatments. Her first co-authored book, "The Healthy Way to Stretch Your Dog, A Physical Therapy Approach," integrated human stretching techniques ino the care of animals. In 2009 it won the Maxwell Award for "Best Health & Care Book". It is currently being expanded into a series of e-books as well as a full-length DVD. She recieved her Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from Arcadia University in Glenside, PA, where she completed her thesis on strength training in the geriatric population. After treating human clients for ten years she began to study with Canine Rehabilitation Institute earning her canine rehabilitation therapist certificate in 2010. She continues with CRI as a teaching assistant for Introduction to Canine Rehabiliation, Therapist Module, and Assistant Module. Her goal is to teach people that all the benefits of physical therapy available to human's - pain management, soft tissue healing, optimizing functional mobility - are also available to animals. Ashley Foster, BS, CPDT-KA, is the behavioral consultant for Canine Fitness Zone. Her goal is canine advocacy in all environments. Seeing the world through the eyes of a dog, Ashley designed the therapy room, developed the gentle-handling technique used during treatment, and continues to provide input that ensures the animal can build a therapuetic relationship with the therapist. She is available for private behavioral consultations.
